Lazy and Tardy
Hello there! For those who are maybe wondering the point of these (fairly regular) posts let me cut to the chase. I recommend four songs that I’m particularly fond of at that particular time, say a few words about them and…well, that’s it. Lets go.
The Trash Can Sinatras - “Weightlifting”
I had the idea that these posts would be weekly initially but I guess I’m a bit lazy and thus tardy with this one. I’m sure you’ll cope, dear reader!
The Trash Can Sinatras are a band I am aware of only in the fact that I’d heard of their name but had never really heard their music properly. However, this track popped up on the radio recently and I loved it, so I decided to check out the rest of the album it’s from, also called “Weightlifting”, and it’s great. So it’s time to check out the rest of their catalogue, I think!
Richard Hawley - “Prism in Jeans”
I’m a big fan of Richard and the two live gigs I’ve seen him play were magnificent. This is from his new album “In This City They Call You Love”, which is pretty good. I’m sure Mr Hawley will pop up again on this blog.
EELS - “Lets Be Lucky”
Another artist I’m fond of, Mark Everett (AKA EELS), also has a new album out. This one is a keeper. Not everything he releases always floats my boat but this one is his best in ages. Check it out.
Joe Jackson - “Stepping Out”
I’m posting this as I’m slowly working my way through Joe’s discography and, of course, this is just such a great song.
